The Medical Intellectual's Self-Defense Kit

The Medical Intellectual's Self-Defense Kit

The Medical Intellectual's Self-Defense Kit (MISDK) is a set of books and materials for medical students who are interested in learning more about the moral and economic case for individual rights and capitalism in medicine. The materials are accessible and engaging, and they assume no prior knowledge of philosophy or economics. See the details page for a description of each item in the kit.

Through the voluntary financial support of private individuals, we are able to distribute the kit to medical students at no charge.

To receive a kit, write to us and tell us a little about your background, how you became interested in these issues, and how you found out about the project. Don't forget to include your mailing address, and please attach a photograph for your profile on the recipients page. You may always change your photo later or request anonymity if you have concerns about privacy. If you have any questions, check out the FAQ or write to us.

Current Availability

YES—The Lucidicus Project is currently accepting requests for kits. (Last updated: February 8, 2010.)

Note: Occasionally we get requests from students who have already read one of the books or pamphlets in the kit. If you already own any of the materials and do not need another copy, please let us know. This is optional, but it helps us to stretch our inventory a little further and award more kits to more students over the long run.
