August 24, 2007. The Lucidicus Project is pleased to award its 26th MISDK to Alya S.
The Lucidicus Project is an independent educational initiative founded to encourage medical students to examine the moral and economic foundations of laissez-faire capitalism, and consider how these ideas apply to the field of medicine.
We approach the reigning policy questions from a standpoint that respects individual rights, including those of patients and providers. Thus, we consider how a free society could produce healthcare goods and services that are effective, safe, efficient, and affordable.
The project's core activity is to provide books and other resources that introduce these concepts to medical students in the United States and around the world. We also publish editorials that comment on current topics. To learn more:
- See the Medical Intellectual's Self-Defense Kit. The MISDK introduces the moral and economic case for capitalism in medicine in an accessible and inviting format. Eligible medical students may request a kit at no charge.
- Read our Editorials. These writings help demonstrate how ideas in ethics, politics, and economics relate to current issues in healthcare. The full archive is available online.
The Lucidicus Project is supported through the generosity of individual donors. There are no fees and no membership or registration.
